This website is the online repository for the Joseph Hooker Correspondence Project, which brings together letters written by Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817-1911) and makes them available, alongside transcripts and archival description.

How to use this website
Search
The search bar is a basic search which searches across the collection’s metadata, transcripts and summaries. When you get your search results, you can narrow down your search results by using the filter box.
Browse Collection
Here you can browse letter by letter. If you hover on each thumbnail, you will see some details about the letter. Click on the thumbnail to see all pages of the letter and additional information.
Advanced Search
Here you can see the filter box and use this to browse the collection. Please note that only the most populated 25 filter terms for each field will show.
Use the search tab to keyword search, and you will be able to narrow down your search results by using the filters.
