My dear Munro*1
I find I have to account to you for the difference between a copy of Standels[?] Syn. Glun[?]: purchased for you & a cheque you sent me for £5.0.0 I think.
Since writing above I have yours with Henslow enclosed, H. was here & sent the letter off to Mr [1 word illeg.] with regrets &c.
Many thanks for the Arctic list are the plants thereof truly Arctic? i.e. born N. of Arctic Circle (N.B. I do not mean created!) -- I see your conclusions as to some differ a little from mine. I send a list of all Grasses I know to be native of N. of Arctic Circle -- I must explain

the bracketing it implies
1. That I [1 word crossed out, illeg.] or some other Botanist rank the plants as varieties
2. That I cannot distinguish them in the Herb. or by descriptions.
3. That they being all so close as probably like vars. [1 word crossed out, illeg.] they are moreover as to their distribution in the same category; or that they are confounded in books to which I refer for distribution.
A ? implies that I do not know the plant -- I should have added a ? to Glyceria fulva[?] but take your word for it. I can find no specimens.
I am very anxious to know when you will come here, I fear I was premature in hoping you would make use of my house for yourself & family, as I find that two rooms

principal bedroom & dining room must be painted & this will I fear render it uninhabitable for some time. My wife & the children go to Worthing next week for 4 or 5 weeks. Tell me what you propose to do & I will do my best for you.
