I think that I asked you about Thrinax barbadense; we have a nice crop of it coming on -- Could you get & preserve for me

good Herbarium specimens? & make such a description of the whole Palm as old Ruebergh[?] made of his E. Indian ones. I do not see how we are to get at a knowledge of Palms except by descriptions made on the spot.
We are all well & in status quo & I am very busy with the affairs both of R.S. & L.S. is getting into new rooms Councils &c &c which also keeps

Bentham high[?] busy. He has finished Vol. VI. of Flora Australiensis[?] & the Mimoseae of [1 word illeg.] -- after which he takes to Vol VII. (last) of Fl. Aust. & to Gen. Plant.
My sister left us yesterday on her way back from Norfolk to Torquay -- she is still a sad invalid. Mrs Bentham must be a little better as he has asked me to [1 word crossed out, illeg.] dine with him on Monday to meet Weddell.
